Good help shouldn't take a group chat.
FYI Neighbor is a small local publication that helps your home run better. We share useful seasonal advice, smart homeowner guides, and good local businesses worth knowing, starting in Bergen County, New Jersey.
Why this exists
Most people don't want to browse forty contractors, get peppered with lead-generation calls, or become the project manager for a simple household problem. They want the neighbor who leans over the fence and says, "FYI, the gutters need doing before the freeze, and here's who did ours."
Local knowledge is better when it's shared, so that's what we're trying to be. Today that means a seasonal homeowner guide in the mail, a short weekly email, and this site. Over time it means an easier way to ask for the right local help.
How we make money, and how we keep it honest
Local businesses pay to be featured, one per category per mailing area. That's advertising, and we label it as advertising. Our guides are written to be useful whether or not you ever hire anyone, and we don't call a business "vetted" or "recommended" unless we've actually done the work to say so.
Who's behind it
FYI Neighbor is run by a Bergen County family who got tired of asking the group chat who to call. Owner: add names/short bio if desired
